Sunday Stash #12

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

Well, you may have noticed that we have been a little quiet for a while, and soon we will tell you why; however in the meantime we can tell you that we have had a great weekend with wonderful visits to the park and drooling by the ice cream stall. †So the fabric for today’s Sunday Stash couldn’t be any other but Tarika in Gem. †Those colours remind me so much of all the different jars full of sweets and ice cream parlours, and invariably put a smile on my face.

This Sunday and Monday you can treat yourself to this charming design, and maybe add another from the same collection, Kumari Gardens, or one of Sweet Nothings by Riley Blake that seem to work together so well!

How is your weekend going?†† Mine is going great, but whilst the weather has not been on our side, there are still plenty of reasons to smile.† Hopefully today’s offer will draw a big smile on your face ;)

This week’s choice is Tarika in Moss from the Kumari Garden collection by Dena Design

I fell for this bold and very simple design when I saw it for the first time.† On a computer screen it might be a bit difficult to appreciate how sweet it is, but do believe me you won’t regret purchasing this fabric.

You can also get this fabric as part of this small bundle for only £5.25 per pack; not bad if you can think of all the options that these 2 fat quarters give you.

I leave you to enjoy the rest of the weekend and/or the beginning of the week.

A little gift to a friend

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Last week I was invited to a friendís house for a BBQ.† I was very happy that they invited me that I wanted to take something special with me to share, apart from a good bottle of wine of course!† After discarding the typical options of flowers, biscuits, chocolates, I remembered that I had seen this post and thought it would be a great way to use one of the most popular fabrics that we have at the shop and also the lavender that I grow in my garden.

from my own garden

I love the design in Scroll by Dena Designs, both in pink and ivory, and it’s also very easy to match with other fabrics too.† I didnít have pinking shears so the end result was a bit different from the original, but I was quite happy with it and the thought of keeping the sachet for me did cross my mind. †But I was glad I did give it to my friend. †The lavender filled the whole living room with a nice soft aroma and the fabric is so lovely that it doesn’t have to be hidden in a corner.

I think it is such a nice present or party favour, and I made it in no time. †I still have lots of lavender from last year so this weekend I am planning to make a few more.
